Welcome to the Lord Eldon Golf Society. The Society was formed in 1985 in the Lord Eldon Inn, in Knutsford, Cheshire (see History). Today the Society consists of around 50 active members and meets eight times during the season, monthly from April to October, with the 'end of season' meeting traditionally held at Knutsford Golf Club in late November/early December.
The Society members have varying golfing ability, from single figure handicaps to social golfers. Each outing is first and foremost a social occasion and the golf is followed by a formal dinner and prize giving. Every event is sponsored from within the membership, ensuring healthy competition for the generous prizes.
At our recent AGM I was nominated and elected as Honorary Secretary, a post I was delighted to accept, and look forward to continuing the excellent work of my predecessor, Iain Glen, who I thank on behalf of the Society for all his dedication and hard work during his term of office.
This website is for the benefit of current members and also to encourage any golfer who may wish to join us to apply for membership. Membership is strictly limited but applications are welcomed via our online application form or by contacting the Hon. Secretary.
Happy Golfing!
Tony Dean
Honorary Secretary
